History of Roswell.
The City of Roswell was founded in 1839 by Roswell King, who discovered and invested in the plot of land. Roswell King established the Roswell Manufacturing Company and built a mill which produced textiles from raw materials grown nearby. The Roswell Mill is currently the largest cotton mill in North Georgia at its height and is a major attraction. Today, the Roswell Mill area is home to the Roswell town square, a center for many shops and attractions, including hiking trails, memorials, and riverboat rides.
